Ben Neumann: No Limits

For the series, we accompanied German surfer Ben Neumann. At the age of six, Ben loses his sight due to a genetic defect. In 2023, the 18-year-old is one of the most successful surfers in the country, rides waves – without being able to see them. Ben is blind – and has a fixed goal: He wants to find sponsors and tackle the sport of surfing professionally. To achieve this, he trains his body at home in Garmisch, perfects his maneuvers in Munich's Eisbach and wants to compete in the Para Surf European Championships in 2023. The competition in Valdoviño, Spain, promises to be a real endurance test with its challenging waves and is an important gauge before the Para World Championships in Huntington Beach (USA) in November 2023.
