Rapid weather changes, dangerous currents, extreme swells and sharp rocks make the French Atlantic coast an untamable force of nature that claims dozens of lives every year despite all efforts. To minimize the danger, local rescue workers give their all every day; especially in midsummer, when the small towns along the coast are home to many times their population.
